We don't just make shirts for men. These women's designs from our archive showcase our team's skill in cutting for ladies too.

Turnbull & Asser is synonymous with men's shirtmaking, but we're proud to make bespoke shirts for women too. Our bespoke team have been cutting shirts for women for decades, and in the 1980's and '90s we even had a dedicated store for womenswear at 69 Jermyn Street.

Over the years, we've made shirts for Katharine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Twiggy, Liza Minelli and Elizabeth Taylor, among other luminaries of stage and screen. Whether Bacall's slim silk shirts worn with her trademark trouser suits, or Bianca Jagger's ribbon-tied blouses that she wore to Studio 54 in New York, designing and making for women is an important part of our story, and something that our bespoke team are only too happy to continue today.

Cornflower Blue Crepe Blouse, 1960s. Pleated front, gathered cuffs and collar, smoked mother-of-pearl buttons.

Cream Rayon Blouse, mid 1970's Full gathered body and sleeves, ruched cuffs, deep spearpoint collar.

Ivory Spun Silk Dress Shirt, 1980s Inset pleated cotton blb, contrast collar and cuffs, semi-spread collar.

Ochre Striped Cotton Blouse, early 1970s. Revere collar, gathered sleeveheads and bust, open square hems.
